No such thing as a 'disaster', as long as you learn and grow from your last effort.
This one is good, i like the theme and it is topical at this time of year.
Maybe fade the reflections a little.

I like it...

You used a good stocks to create a nice final image. All appears to blend together nicely. I would say, work more on lighting and shadowing though. Maybe create a 50% grey fill layer blend mode overlay and use the dodge and burn tools to get the lighting and shadowing.

Great piece though.

Hi Inkz..

Thank you... I added that gray layer then dodge and burn as you suggested... Don't Know if i did it right though. I put the blend mode to overlay and put the opacity to around 25%.

Thank you.

Nice...

I hope you don't mind. I played around with the lighting and shadowing just to show you the effect.

I also painted some light in with #ffa200 set to overlay and lower the opacity to 60%.

Now that looks very nice....

Remember, if you incorporate light into an image, you will have to spend sometime making it look like theres light lol.

You done very well inkpad.

would you leave this as it is, or can it be taken further ? I personally like it as it is and don't want to over crowd it like i did the first attempts.

C'mon guys with the images. I'm tired of clicking the like link :naughty:

Actually, I love it inkpad. Such fun. Nice treatment INKZ. And I like how you interpreted that inkpad. Like Paul said, very appropo for the date!

Thank you ....

I learn so much from that first mess i did.. looking back i now realize how difficult manipulations can be. I'm so use to using and creating my own shapes and doing designs in different way's than you do with manipulations, having said that i am learning other tools and ways of doing things in Photoshop..

My personal opinion on manipulations is that everyone should try it at some point.. the knowledge gained of the use of some tools you might not normally use can be transfer over to your every day use in Photoshop. However that depends on your time you can invest and it's not for everyone.

Than you.

Another thing you'll learn doing manipulations, besides the tools, is the array of other features: blending modes, layer masks, filters, layer opacities. It's fun to have manipulations as one of your PS skills, or even your main one. I am just a virtual beginner and I too have learned so much here.

My PS mantra: Have fun with Photoshop!
