2 Stocks & 5 Smoking Layers
CHALLENGE

Hey shoppers..

Just starting a little challenge for everyone to get involved. All skill levels welcome.

How does it work?

You will have two stocks to work with. One model/object/transport stock and one background stock.
Everyone must use the given stocks, but here's the twist, you may NOT use more than 5 layers
to complete your composite lol. Brushes are allowed. No additional stocks allowed or premade BG's. When posting your image, please also provide a screenshot of your layers.

NO merging layers please lol. And adjustment layers count as one layer, so use them wisely.

These challenges will be short and sweet, so I would like a 3 day window until the next challenge is given.
The winner will be decided via public vote and the winner will choose the next two stocks.

So lets get this started.

Here are two stocks I've chosen. Remember, have FUN and be CREATIVE.

Oh, ok...

No no no no other stocks are allowed lol, also, no pre-made backgrounds. I will add these to the rules.

Defo me out too advanced for me but good luck to all and nice image Inkz

ALL skill levels Angel...

Open for everyone. But you use Ps apps, so I'm not sure. I may make an exception, will have to discuss the possibility with the forum minions first :bustagut:

It's not due to app as app has layers etc that I can screenshot it's just impossible for me to do it by the specs ie 5 layers no merge I'm not that good so takes me loads of layers I'll have a practice tho :)

Ahhhhhhh I think we need more layers......38 comes to mind :lol:

I used 4 layers. Thank goodness for save selection so I could rasterize layer effects, use the selection and erase. Of course, I could have made glows on the BG layer which in fact I did to some degree. For adjustments, I used image>adjustment. Used warp and liquify for shaping the book. Could have done better with 38 layers . . . well maybe 2 or 3 more, lol.

EDIT: added a 5th layer.

Thanks Inkz!

Yeah, two layers was quite by accident. I was trying to beat Claraby's 7 layers so I was conserving as much as possible by carefully working on the BG or the girl layer only. I had not figured on the warp effect working on the same layer as well. When I started playing with warp, I found I could just make a selection with the Polygonal Lasso tool on the BG and then warp it, so it was a happy accident and not by design. I learn every time I do a project. I did forget to do one thing though, I did not care for her line of sight and I wanted to white out her eyes..............oh well, next time.

That was not 7 layers!!! The bottom two were prep layers and the solid BG is above them, included as one of the top 5 layers. Blat! :bustagut:

Actually, the bottom BG was not prepping but saving the original unless I screwed it up. And the maskingbelow the BG was for the same reason; unless I had to retrieve it.

Prep layers! We could've used prep layers? I see 7 active layers on your screenshot! Heheheeeeeeee! :bustagut:

OK, fine. Read my edit.

They are layers I could have simply manipulated in 5 layers. I kept them (below the background) like many of us who are smart/experienced enough do -- in case we screw up, we still have the original. Sheesh! Newbies . . .
