    Lab parameters in 3d space

    i was trying to find the closest color to another color by using 16 shades. i think that L,a,b could be used as x,y,z parameters to set color position in 3d space and then measure the distance between colors. am i right or is it useless approach?

    Two images: one is clearer than the other one

    These two images are positioned close in the same web page, but one is darker than the other and the total effect is a bad result. On which parameters should I work? Thanks to all.
