    As for frames, I always use one simple but effective technique Here's psd example. By tweaking Frame profile Curves layer you can make any frame you want.

    How to do this in photoshop?

    IMHO, it was created in Illustrator: Just Live Trace, expand, ungroup, select all, Object->Path->Simplify with Straight Lines checked. Or Live Trace, Effect->Distort & Transform->Roughen with Corner Points.

    I just don't get it... You want the model but with different pose? Then just use puppet warp, transform, Liquify, etc... Use mannequin image as a reference. In any other case it's quite a job to use allready mapped texture with it's own distortions, lights and shadows on another...

    What does this warning mean?

    This message just says that you won't see it's "marching ants", thats all. "Marching ants" appear from 50% and upper. If you have subtle selection they just wouldn't show up. But selection is still there and active.
