A good PC for working with photoshop Cs6 and Premiere cs6?

Hi, I would like to ask some informations. Saturday I've purchased a new pc with these following specifications: - Core i5 4430 3.0 Ghz - 16 Gb of ram DDR3 1600 Mhz - nVidia Geforce 620 1 GB - 1 Tb HARDISK sata 7200 RPM (are good hardisk? durable with time? even if I use photoshop?) - Case CoolerMaster - 750 watt alimentator Unfortunately, the monitor is not good, but at the moment I have to keep my old one. A "AvidAV" monitor made in china! You could ask 'but why you purchased a pc before to ask on internet which pc assembled was good for working with photoshop? The answer is because in my family, my father and brother are expert of pc's and the specifications, more over, the store where I went to purchased are expert in this sector and in partnership with Asus ! So I leave to them to choose the best pc for the usage I needed: Digital graphic, photomanipulations with photoshop Cs6; some amatorial video post production with Premiere, and Illustrator (cs6). Do you think this graphic card is suitable for the usage I need to do? I have another question about the nVidia graphic card--- the cooling fan mounted on the video card ... are always too small, even if the video cards are much more 'powerful nowdays ... I thought they would be different recently, but I see from photos on the web of this model, that they still have mounted a really small fan... What do you think? Thanks for any suggestion/info!

Most PCs are good enough to run after effects, premiere and photoshop just some will do it better, Your spec should run well for photoshop however may struggle with the likes of video editing which drains a lot of cpu. I used the nvidia GTX650 for 3 hours before I ordered the GTX 780 but that is mainly because I use 3d rendering programs and the difference between my old i5 system and my new i7 ssd system is remarkable. Yes your spec is good for dabbling in but if you are doing hardcore video editing you need to be looking at xeon range or i7 and a better graphics card will help but not that much for straight video editing

Thank for the answer. So it will work fine with raw images with photoshop?!
Premiere I will use just from time to time, for some amatorial videos, so not professional or hardcore, I hope it will work fine !
And about the graphic card, what about the cooler fan system? I think this card will get hightemperatures... I wish the cooler system was better than this little fan...

Thanks again for the infos!

Guys, I am sorry, but I could not disagree more strongly. Most PCs won't come close to working nicely with Premiere Pro and After Effects _if you want to edit with H.264 (from a DSLR) or AVCHD (most camcorders). OK, the CPU will sort of keep up, but it will not be a very satisfactory editing experience. What you need are several fast drives, and this means raid0 or above. My system was built nearly two years ago specifically for Premiere Pro and After Effects. The spec is 3930K running at 4.2Ghz, 570GTX, 32Gb RAM, 14Tb storage over 12 drives including 1 SSD, one fast raid0 using two 2nd gen v'raptors for source video, one not quite so fast raid0 using two WD Blacks, five external USB3 My Books for back up and additional non critical data storage.

Best place to learn how to build a NLE system for use with Adobe apps is the Adobe Premiere Pro Hardware Forum
http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/hardware_forum?view=discussions

A very good place to compare specs and performance is the PPBM5 results page
http://ppbm5.com/DB-PPBM5-1.php

Note my system is still ranked at #17 two years later. It was at #4 for a long time.

Go log on to the Adobe forums and ask the lads on the PP hardware form about your spec, and they will be happy to advise. Or go to sites like ADK or The Video Guys, and check the specs of their custom NLE systems

And this blog post

I'm sure you get the idea by now. But what happens is the average system simply can't keep up with supplying the source video and and uncompressing it, fast enough, and you get stutter as you scrub the time line. My system never comes close to being taxed with Photoshop etc. Not even close. But I see all twelve cores maxed out, and most of that 32Gb RAM in use, when rendering out the time line or an After Effects Comp.

Thanks guys, and yes JohnD have right... sorry maybe I didn't explain well... the main use is more about Photoshop Cs6 and raw images... (I'll use premiere just once in a while, and just to 'play' with it, and make some little, easy post production, nothing much 'heavy'... I just was wondering about premiere, because till now I 've even used after effect with a pc with just 3 gb of ram, and I could still doing video... so I think with this new pc, one thing is sure: it will not run more slow than the previous pc) !

But the main thing I want to do is photoshop, I 've purchased a pc exclusively to learn photoshop very well.

I want to do a correction, yesterday I got the new pc (that's why I was slow in answering !) and it's not Nvidia 620, but 650! So is even better.

The only thing that still is slow (I aspect that this new pc could be fast, but I notice the tool 'smudge', it's slow compared to other tools... it's normal? I mean, before to apply the 'smudge', the pc slowing down a little for some seconds... it's not 'immediate' the changes when I use this tool...

I really wonder if is normal!

THanks again for the advices!

And who know, in future, if I'll get a very powerful pc, I'll start also to study Premiere in professional way, it's another software that I really love it!

Do still look at the system optimization links. All they are is a way to get a lean mean editing machine, stripped of unnecessary, system slowing, clutter.
