    Creating Text Question...

    i've never been good with text tho, its something im working on. but could the purpose of them be to create the text on the background shown in the tutorials and then to move the text and apply it to the cover? would that work?

    my main purpose for photoshop is creating mixtape (or album) covers and every time i see a cool text design i want to try in a cover design, it always involved the background being a certain way (mostly black.) if im restricted to what the background has to be, how am i supposed to use the text...

    Confused About Patterns.. help please

    so they're essentially the same thing.. but how exactly do i use them? in one tutorial it showed how to overlay it in an image but when i do that it's just black and white.. do i have to manually change the color? also sometimes all i can get it to do is have the pattern show up in a brush...
