How to intensify the lights in a night picture of a city

Hi all,

I'm very happy I've found this forum over the Internet!

I'm guessing if anyone could help me with my issue...

I'd like to increase the lights' intensity of a picture I took to the Manhattan skyline during late evening, creating halos around them

I tried with the Gaussian Blur and Diffuse Glow filters but with no satisfying results...

Can anyone help me?

You can use any sort of Layer Adjustment

Quick one: duplicate layer, gaussin blur a bit and then set the blending mode of this layer to screen. Just fiddle with the settings. Mind you, I'm just guessing here what you want... there are tons of ways to do this.
