As Halloween approaches, and the scary things prepare to come out, I have a seasonal challenge for you.
What is scary about Photoshop? I hear you say.. that would be the Pen Tool.
Ok, it's not that scary, but the challenge I have is a character creation. Notably, the skinning of a character template. The pen tool generally features heavily in this area, so time to oil those bezier handles. You can use any layer fx, shape building, gradients, whatever you want to achieve the look you want, so go for it.
The Goal:
To create a spooky character from a Horror Movie or Book, or even make up your own. As long as it's a Monster or Alien etc, it doesn't have to be scary. There are some iconic characters that spring to mind, but you are welcome to be obscure. (PSD Download is at the bottom of this post)
Example:
This is what you will start with, and it comes with 2 poses. Like below, and another with 1 hand out (as if holding something.)
Here are a couple of examples of a skinned character Illustration.
I hope my challenge request is understandable, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
