Is this any good

Here is the brief

Band name: Kwelduvel
Genre: (Post-)black metal/ acoustic
influences: Alcest, Agalloch, Amesoeurs, Lantlos
Sounds like: Melancholic acoustic music and slow lo-fi (depressive black) metal
What I'm looking for: A simple, easily-readable logo, maybe inspired by the logos of Alcest and Agalloch.

they look good, but just good not awesome. They are restricted due to the dark background here in my opinion. they would probably look better and bolder on a lighter bkgd. They are readible if thats what you are going for.

Yeah I am not that happy with them either as I never did like dark stuff but this heavy metal is all about black and dark. I think I must rework them

I think extending the background on the sides past the lettering slightly would be a big improvement.

I agree, I just didn't like the letters touching the side edges.
Don't make the lettering smaller.
Just use transform and stretch the background out a little.

The front is Birth Of a Hero, how is this then. Lol I am determined not to go back and do this in Corel as I need to learn FS



I suppose something like this makes the name pop more

I think they're both better than first ones you posted.
I like the top one more than the bottom one.
I like the text color put it could pop a little more, have you applied any Style to the text?

with that font being so broken I would just use that anything else takes away from the effect of the font (besides solid colors) imo
i will remove if you want,
