[Retouch] Landscape

xversion, that isn't just nice; it's superb.

It brings to mind 19th century cityscape paintings. Funny that I should admire a photo that one could call regressive, photo to painting, when the feat was painting to photo. Nah, it's beautiful. It doesn't hurt that the photo had the right elements, but I think you did an incredible job with the light and color.

Bravo!

That is a masterful example! Awesome job!

Key notes for people trying to do the same; Enhancements with the blending layer "CURVES" is a difficult one on landscape images with what I like to call; The Three Tones. You have to watch very carefully to keep the balance, which is exactly what he has done here. The Three Tones to watch for as you are adjusting Brightness/Contrast and your Curves Layer is;

Forest - Green (Can become dark, and tinge everything with Green)
Sky - Blue (Can pop out and dominate the entire picture, rather than blending cleanly)
Clouds - White (Can become over-exposed, and wash out when adjusting lower contrast colours)

Trying to get these three to play along takes a lot of work. They fight like cat and dog.

Honestly? That picture would sell well to local shops as postcards, or local council tourism departments. ;-)
